We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technologist specializing in single family, infill and row house drafting to join our growing team! We have a full-time position available within a structured or flexible work arrangement.

Rootstock Architecture Inc. is a growing Architectural Studio registered in Alberta and British Columbia. We specialize in multi-family, high-end single family and commercial/professional projects. We are expanding our portfolio of infill and “missing middle” project work.

The Position:

Our ideal candidate would be self-driven, works well in a flexible work environment, and is a team player. You should be excited about building technologies, technical detailing, specification development, sustainability and comfortable with managing a project and consultant coordination. Revit experience required, CAD and Sketchup experience an asset. Significant experience in single family, infill and row house drafting is a must.

We are open to candidates with relevant experience in Alberta, British Columbia and the prairie provinces.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

Our studio supports and encourages participation in all project phases to enrich your current abilities and ensure that everyone receives a well-rounded experience. This technologist role will contribute to design development and will prepare detailed contract documents, including drawings and specifications, under direction of senior staff within a team environment. The individual must have a thorough understanding of the processes of conceptualization, design and implementation of buildings as well as the technological aspects of building design from an engineering and construction standpoint. Qualifications and Experience:

• Architectural Technologist Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5years of relevant Canadian experience in single family, infill and row house drafting
• Training in architectural technology, building technical design and construction
• Knowledge of wood-frame construction and detailing
• Strong technical knowledge and technical drawing experience with Revit, (AutoCAD and Sketchup experience an asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with consultant coordination and project management
