Yinchuan Forest Park
56 Hectares |
Shopping Centre, Theme Park, & Leisure Park |
Commercial & Residential Spaces |
Forest Park is located in Yinchuan, Ningxia Province, China. This development over 56-hectares includes the 141,000sq m (GLA) KISS WATER CENTRE (MALL), over 2,000,000m2 of commercial, retail and residential spaces, and a theme and leisure park.
Developed to support local community growth prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, this development was masterplanning to act as a binding leisure center between two cities that were rapidly growing and beginning to merge.
Lisa lived on site for 3 years and, together with the development and construction team, managed the design, project and construction coordination of multiple buildings, regulatory requirements and consultant coordination.
Conceptually, the masterplan of the site developed over multiple iterations on site with the developer and the regulatory bodies. The arid landscape was reimagined and sculpted into a riverside oasis where the soil from carved river was redistributed around the site to create hills and mounds for miniature train exploration and meandering treed pathways.
The site showcases amphitheaters, mini-golf, retail opportunities, historic-themed pergolas, theme-park rides and many other delights.
